Northwoods Youth Soccer Association

Welcome to the Northwoods Youth Soccer Association website. Here you will be able to learn more about the club, find directions to our fields, see when the registration dates are for each of the three sessions, and print off the 2008 player registration form for your child and access the adult background check.
Northwoods is an organization that offers competitive soccer with other towns from either the Arrowhead Youth Soccer Association (AYSA), out of Duluth, or the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA), out of the Twin Cities. Teams play half of their games home and half of their games away in either league. AYSA away games stretch from Duluth to Hibbing and to the East Range. Our club strives to provide a fun atmosphere for all athletes in a positive learning environment. Our club is proud to have many teams continuing on into the Final Four Tournament every year. Check out our latest results, from the past three sessions.

To NYSA Parents
Here is a brief explanation of the changes we agreed to make for the summer 2008 season.
NYSA in cooperation with the Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Department will be offering a "house" league for players U9 thru U12 beginning during the spring and summer of 2008. Children in this age group will register for soccer through parks and rec. and be full members of Northwoods and the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association(MYSA). Teams will be organized for small sided games which are strongly endorsed by MYSA and the U.S. Soccer Federation. Travel outside of the Grand Rapids Area will not be necessary with the development of a house league. Players will play with age appropriate sized soccer balls, fields and goals. The small sided philosophy allows each player to have more fun, more contact with the ball, be more involved in each game and develop greater soccer skills at an early age. It is also hoped that parents without a soccer background will be more interested in coaching when the team sizes are smaller and more manageable.
A special Thank You to all the supporters of NYSA soccer by their donations to
help provide new jerseys to all the NYSA soccer players.
